- What possible health problems might this dog develop?
The Papillon is a relatively healthy breed of dog. Some problems that we test for are luxating patella (which is a knee problem), heart problems, and possible eye issues. All of these are simply a test that we have preformed on our dogs to know what might be an issue. These are the standard tests for the breed currently. A good breeder should have the dogs Eye’s CERFed, OFA on patella’s, as well as OFA on the dogs Heart.
- How big will the dog get?
Papillons range in size from 8-11 inches, however sometimes they can be smaller or a little bigger. Its always a good Idea to ask how big the parents are, to get a better idea on the size the puppy might be.
- How old will he be before he acts like an adult dog?
Papillons mature very fast, and slow at the same time. It can take minimum of 2 years for a Papillon to fully develop both in body and in hair coat. However they are done growing high wise by 5-9months (this depends on the puppy) They are also done teething about the same time.
