To ascertain that your puppy is free from disease or physical defect it should be taken to your veterinarian for a well-puppy exam within 72 hours of purchase. If the dog is found within this time period to not be of good health and physical development, it may be returned to the breeder at that time for a complete refund or a replacement puppy.
We have done our best to avoid passing on any undesirable traits by having tested both parents of this puppy, who are free, as far as it is possible to determine by these tests, of undesirable genetic characteristics. Because of all the genetic and environmental factors involved, we cannot absolutely guarantee that your puppy will be without hereditary defects.
With that said, if your puppy should develop any hereditary characteristics, such as severe patella luxation, or hereditary heart or eye conditions before the age of 26 months that will affect the puppy’s life or normal physical abilities, we will offer a replacement puppy as soon as possible. We do require a diagnosis by a board certified veterinarian specialist. A second opinion from a Board Certified Veterinarian chosen by the breeder, or approved by the breeder is required. This guarantee does not cover any conditions that are not symptomatic and do not affect the dogs performance.
Coccidia and Giardia have become more prevalent in puppies than worms. These are parasitic in nature and cause diarrhea, lethargies, and leave the puppy feeling generally unwell as well as deprive the puppy of vital nutrients. Coccidia often is seen on the stool as very small white dots or spots (cysts) and the stool is wrapped in a thin mucous layer. A giardia stool can often be black from old blood in the intestine, or have fresh blood in the stool. Both conditions are easily treated by your veterinarian.
A puppy can leave our property without any problems from these two conditions, yet the stress of traveling and adjusting to a new home can trigger a reaction or over production of the condition. Please consult your veterinarian right away if your puppy’s stool becomes diarrhea with either mucous or blood appearing. Coccidia is often treated with Albon, and Metronidazole (an intestinal antibiotic) is usually the drug of choice for giardia. Both can be detected by simply bringing a stool sample into your vet.
These conditions only apply if the dog has not been bred and the
following conditions have been met by the owner.
1. We understand that this puppy has been sold to us in good faith and that it will not be bred. This means that we will spay/neuter the puppy upon our veterinarians recommended schedule of an appropriate age. (Females not less than 10 months of age). Registration papers will be forwarded to the new owner when proof of spay/neuter is sent to the breeder.
2. We acknowledge that the puppy is being sold as a pet, and will be afforded adequate shelter, socialization and housing.
3. The puppy is not to be tied in any manner, nor ever allowed to run free. Owner will provide a dog run or a fenced yard when off leash.
4. The puppy is to be fed premium quality food that contains no Gluten or Gluten meal. Gluten comes from China, (cheapest source) and in most cases is responsible for all pet product recalls.
5. The puppy is to be maintained at a weight appropriate to its size and age. Many veterinarians do not want to offend their clients and will tell you the dog is fine. You should be able to always feel individual ribs with fat between (not covering) the ribs. Also looking down on the puppy, you should be able to identify a waistline.
6. The puppy must be provided with proper grooming, correct exercise, and veterinary care.
7. Provide adequate training including attending formal puppy classes. Classes must have a positive reinforcement approach to training. Any harsh choke collars or other unnecessary equipment only shows ignorance on the part of the trainer and training center.
8. The puppy will not be allowed to jump up or down from places higher than 12 inches, or made to run or jog unnaturally (i.e. next to a bike) up until 2 years of age. These activities have been shown to cause joint damage, injure growth plates, or damage connective tissue.
9. The puppy will receive proper veterinary care, vaccinations, routine deworming, following the vet’s recommendations.
10. This puppy will never be sold to a foreign country or in the US without consent of Playtyme Papillons.
11. This puppy will not be sold or given to a second party without prior notification and agreement of the breeder. Should you be unable to keep the puppy for any reason, the undersigned agrees to contact the breeder and give the breeder “ FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL”.
12. All costs incurred by the owner, vet bills, feed bills, liability, are the responsibility of the owner named above.
13. Buyer agrees that should this puppy be denied proper shelter, diet or veterinary care, Playtyme Papillons has the expressed right to remove the property and ownership will be surrendered.
I understand and agree fully to the above conditions set forth in the purchase of a Playtyme Papillon.
